Nakiya Goings Ms. Lehmann English 1-1A 25 August 2018 Summary of “Rituals of Memories” In her essay, “Rituals of Memory,” Kimberly M. Blaeser argues that our relationships to family and community shape who we are. Blaeser gives readers a metaphor comparing those relationships to her friend’s curly, tangled hair. She supports her claim with her experiences honoring fallen veterans with the Legionnaires. She also gives the examples of her own two cultures, Native Americans Land German Catholic. She explains that they both define her. Blaeser concludes that our stories and memories of our family and culture define who we are. Summary of “Night Calls”
